F H Ives Ltd offers an extensive range of timber supplies available for collection or delivery in Wickford, Basildon, Billericay and the surrounding areas.

Our on-site mill ensures we are able to offer a speedy turnaround should you require your timber cut to a specific size.

Sawn Timber is commonly used for framing and general building and construction projects.

All Sawn timber is graded at source to a minimum of C16 up to C24 and available from stock in sizes (shown in mm):

Exact sizes can be machined to order at our timber yard in Wickford, Essex. We can also deliver Sawn Timber to the nearby towns of Benfleet, Laindon, Pitsea and further afield. Larger timbers are held in stock at our yard and can be machined up to a maximum size of 300 x 150.

When used for projects exposed to the elements outside, bare timber can quickly degrade over time if it isn’t sufficiently treated. Treating the timber can extend its life by many years. Treated timber is available from stock at our Wickford yard in the following sizes.

• 45 mm x 70 mm
• 45 mm x 95 mm
• 45 mm x 145 mm

Hardwood timber is commonly used in construction projects and situations where a hard wearing timber is required. Hardwoods are also a good choice for flooring projects or making furniture.

Hardwood timber doesn’t rot or degrade as quickly as softwood can. Hardwood Timber is machined to order only and we can offer either a Sappelle or American White Oak at our Timber yard in Wickford.

CLS stands for Canadian Lumber Standard and is usually made from kiln-dried softwood timber such as fir, spruce or pine. CLS is commonly used for timber frame construction projects and stud-work walls.

CLS timber is kept in the following sizes:

2.4m lengths : 50 x 75 and 50 x 100 mm. (38 x 68 mm and 38 x 88 mm nominal sizes).
